When volunteering and co-teaching English in Kigali, Rwanda through MCC's SALT program in 2011-2012, I got to know some amazing people. Several of the girls I taught were strong, motivated, determined and already becoming leaders. But their families could no longer afford to send them to high school. My dream was for them to graduate and find a good job.
This dream became reality in the 2013 school year when I began finding people to donate to support their education. So far, 2 student have graduated and 7 are still studying. Maombi was the top in her class in 2015 and Liliane was one of the top students in 2014. If you want to contribute or get more details, contact me. My church receives donations and will send a charitable gift contribution at the end of the year. |
